The idea for this crafts colony can be attributed to Petra Plestenjak Podlogar and was immediately supported by Kati Sekirnik (head of the DUO Center) and Katka Žbogar (former head of the DUO Center). The latter, in the hope of its immediate execution, offered her house in an idyllic location in Breznica, near Škofja Loka. The date (July 7th - 9th) was chosen, invitations were sent to all the craftsmen of Art and Craft Centre, who accepted the idea with open arms ... and the creative stone began to roll…
The topic of the meeting was 'Dwarfs, giants, dragons and other fairy creators' from the four stories of the Stone Bridge book (Kamniti most), which Karla B. Rihtaršič read during the first evening by the campfire. Ten artisans - members of the DUO section attended the colony: Matija Hiršenfelder, Ladka Peneš, Lili Panjtar, Katja Zrimšek, Anja Musek, Petra Vengar, Klemen Urbanija, Lidija Debelak, Jože Krmelj and Petra Plestenjak. Other creators, musicians, guests who also joined the colony were: Anka Pintar, Daniel Musek, Monika Breuss, Primož Rihtaršič, Maja and Evan Stough, Jana Jocif, Urška Potrebuješ, Janez Jocif...
We worked on our craft outdoors, during daytime, and in the evening we hang out by the fire camp and enjoyed live music. The colony was organized under the auspices of OOZ Škofja Loka, the Section of Art and Craft, with minimal costs and a lot of volunteer work. Great thanks for organizing everything goes to Petra, Katka and Kati, to Katka and Matija for hosting all of us in their beautiful location and, last but not least, to all craftsmen and guests who attended the meeting! See you next year!
Photographs can only show so much of the colony happening, final creations will be shown at exhibitions in Škofja Loka and elsewhere in Slovenia.
