Amuse wet felting workshops, courses and demonstrations in 2023

Welcome to the Amuse studio in the year 2023!

Maybe you're wondering what wet felting is? You can visit a short presentation or make something smaller in just 1 hour, or you can spend half a day, a day or even several days in the studio and create your very own unique seamless product and delve into the oldest technique of textile production.

These wet felting demonstrations, workshops and classes are available:

Presentations, demonstrations and short workshops

What is wet felting? How do we make felt in the oldest process of creating textile? What is the history of wet felting - in the world, Slovenia and Skofja Loka? Which  types of wool and other fibers can we use for felting? What kind of products can we make in this technique? What are the advantages of using felt, wool and other natural materials? ​

​- we will answer all these and many other questions during the presentation of wet felting.

Demonstrations, presentations and short workshops can be prepared for individual visitors, families, companies and school groups, as well as other groups of visitors such as associations, tourist groups, etc. They can last from 30 minutes to approx. 1.5 hours.

Create an item of your choice

Check if any of the announced dates suit you. On the selected day, you can come and make an item of your choice, e.g. scarf, bag, slippers...

Several dates have already been announced, but we will add new dates based on demand and conditions.

• Friday, 17. November, 3 pm - 8 pm
• Saturday, 18. November, 10 am - 6 pm

As mentioned, at this type of workshop, you choose the product yourself, which is made in the wet felting technique from carded wool with the possibility of adding nettle, silk, viscose, linen, bamboo, hemp and other fibers.

You can learn the basics of wet felting or make a felt soap, brooch, necklace, purse, slippers, bowl, nuno scarf, mesh scarf, cobweb scarf, pillow cover, book cover, cat's den, hat, beret or some other felt product. If you can't decide what to make on a certain date, a suggestion is also attached to each of the dates.

The groups are small and despite the fact that everyone in the group may be making something different, we will take enough time so that you take away a lot of new knowledge and a beautiful and quality product.

Workshop price: €35 – €120 (for most products around €85) depending on the chosen project
Duration: 1 – 7 hours (depending on which product you will be felting). ​
Discounts:

• 5% discount - if you have already attended one of the Amuse workshops
• 7% discount - if you come with a friend (for two people who register together - 1 bill)

Discounts are not cumulative. Please mention the discount when registering.

Thematic workshops and courses

If there is a a few interested participant who would like to produce the same product in a certain period, we will agree on one date and conduct a workshop or a course.

One-day thematic workshops:

• basics of wet felting
• felting of handbags
• felting slippers
• felting of scarves in the chosen technique (nuno, cobweb - cobweb, mesh)
• felting of vessels
• ... ​

Multi-day thematic courses:

• basics of felting, scarf, bag and slippers
• making a garment (e.g. top or vest or tunic in spider web technique - 3 days)
• hat felting
• special effects in felt
• ... ​

Workshops for closed groups

Creating in a 'closed' group - when several acquaintances agree to make a certain product (it can also be different products, the production of which requires approximately the same time) and they would like to spend this time in the company of friends, relatives, colleagues, etc.

These workshops are particularly fun and relaxed, as we are surrounded by people we know while creating.

​ Workshops of this type are not publicly announced - we do not accept external participants in the group. These types of workshops can be held in the Amuse studio or at your location.
