Amuse wet-felting workshops in October 2019

In October, you are warmly invited to two workshops in the Amuse wool studio, in the old town center of Skofja Loka, Slovenia. On Friday, the 18th we will learn how to make a flat felt surface - a sitting mat. The very next day - on Saturday, 19th you will bring home a beautiful soft and thin cobweb scarf. Attending both workshops will give you a unique inside of the range of products that can be made with wet-felting (and of course you will get a discount for attending both).

Wet felting is a relaxing technique and that is why socializing in the Amuse studio is both enjoyable and rewarding :) Groups are small and we always take the time to have a short chat over tea and cookies. You can attend the workshops alone or with a friend, partner, child, etc.

Wet felting for beginners - no prior knowledge of felting needed.

Friday, October 18, 2019, 4pm to 8pm.

The master-felter will guide you through the process of making felt, presenting you with different types of carded wool and other fibers suitable for felting, basic tools and wet felting techniques. You will learn more about the history of wet felting and contemporary felting products.

At the workshop, we are going to use carded wool to felt a sitting mat, without wasting any fibers or cutting any felt (zero waste). We will learn how to make a compact, flat surface of at least four layers of carded wool with the possibility of decorating it with other fibers ... we will learn the proper layering of wool, different laying of fibers according to the desired result, various fibers and materials that can be combined with wool and offer many effects and of course the correct wet felting process.

You lay the sitting mat on the chair or directly on the floor.

Price: 50 eur per person
All the materials are included in the price, you will take the mat home with you.

With the knowledge gained, you will be able to create many different products at home, and the workshop provides a good basis for attending further courses (handbags, scarves, slippers, vessels).

The number of places is limited, applications are mandatory.

Cobweb scarf

You can also visit this extremely popular Amuse workshop even if you are not familiar with wet felting, since the 'cobweb' technique is very different from the basic method of creating felt.

You will make a beautiful scarf for yourself or someone close to you.

Saturday, October 19, 2019:

• Morning workshop - 9am to 1pm
• Afternoon workshop - 14pm to 18pm

This workshop lasts for 4 hours.

You will create a unique cob-web fabric that is considered to be the most thin, translucent and soft felt fabric.

You will use the softest merino wool in tops, with the ability to add silk, linen, viscose, hemp and other fibers... in many colors, effects and patterns.

You will learn about techniques, possible variations, materials and accessories, so that you will be able to reproduce this technique learned at home.

Price: 70 euros per person
All the materials are included in the price, you will take the product home with you :)

The number of places in all scarf workshops is very limited, so sign up as soon as possible and indicate whether you would prefer to attend a morning or afternoon workshop (or both).

Payment can be made by bank transfer or in the studio by cash, before the workshop begins.
