Felting workshops and classes in 2022

You are invited to the Amuse studio in the beginning of the year 2022. All types of workshops and courses on wet felting are currently available:

Duration and price depends on the choice of product. Small groups will be formed, there will be enough time to create different products.

In this type of workshop, you choose a product that you make in the technique of wet felting from carded wool with the possibility of adding nettle, silk, viscose, linen, bamboo, hemp and other fibers.

You can make a flat felt surface (scarf, rug, placemat ...) or a 3-d product (bag, slippers, vessel...).

You can learn the basics of wet felting or make a felt soap, brooch, necklace, handbag, slippers, bowl, nun scarf, mesh scarf, cobweb scarf, pillow cover, book cover, cat den, felted picture, hat, beret or some other felt product.

The groups will be small and despite the fact that everyone in the group may be making something different, we will take enough time to take away a lot of new knowledge and a beautifully made quality felt product(s).

​Workshop prices: 30 - 100 € depending on the selected project

Duration: 1 - 7 hours (depending on which product you will make).

Discounts:
- 10% discount - if you have already attended one of the Amuse workshops
- 15% discount - if you come with a friend (for two people who sign up together - 1 invoice)
Discounts do not add up.

Workshops for closed groups

Lately, there is a lot of interest in wet-felting in a 'closed' group - a bubble - when several people (friends, relatives, co-workers, etc.) agree to make a certain product (or different products whose production takes about the same time). If you are interested in this kind of workshop, please contact me and we will arrange a date that will suit us all.

This workshop will not be made public - we will not be accepting external participants into the group. Such workshops can be held in the Amuse studio or at your location (additional cost apply).

Individual workshops

Individual learning of wet felting is also still available. It is intended for an individual participant who wants to learn wet-felting, individual felting techniques (or several techniques) or an individual (perhaps more demanding) product in depth and adapted to her/him. The price depends mainly on the duration of the individual workshop, which can be half a day, 1 working day or several days.

Simple item of clothing making class in cobweb technique

We are collecting applications for the next date. The exact dates of the meetings will be determined with all 3 registered people.

In the course we will make the upper part of the garment in cobweb technique - top, tunic, vest or T-shirt.

Estimated production time: 3 days (eg. Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday)
Number of participants: 3 people
Price: 300 eur. The price also includes all the material. The usual discounts apply.

Through three meetings, we will systematically and without haste gain the knowledge of wet felting a piece of clothing in the 'cobweb' technique. All without cutting, sewing and without wasting any fibers. First, everyone will make their own smaller piece of felt, shrink it, and calculate the shrinkage factor. We will then use the existing pattern (desired final shape and size) as a basis, which we will increase in size according to special rules and shrinkage factor. We will then finally felt the item. If there is some time left, everyone will be able to make another product in the same technique, e.g. scarf.

Cobweb felt is considered to be the thinnest, most translucent and soft woolen fabric created by wet felting. We will use the softest merino wool in tops/slivers, with the possibility of adding silk, linen, viscose, linen, ramie and other fibers. In any colors, effects and patterns you choose...

This workshop is also available for a closed group if three participants agree to come together (1 bill - 15% discount).

Registration for all workshops and courses is mandatory. The number of places is limited, as very small groups will be formed. Suitable for adults and children (depending on the product). The material is included in the price.
